Mock Garden Roses
So we have all seen that the forcast for the remaining 2017- 2018 trend is still very heavy in the garden flowers look. For this look one of the most popular bridal choices (other then peonies) is the garden rose. Often times the garden rose is seen as the all year round/ wider color varietal option of a peony. The issue is that the average "true' garden rose can run you $6-$15/ stem which makes it a bouquet only splurge item. So how do you achieve the garden rose look without breaking the bank? By utilizing their off brand cousins! A flower category I am dubbing "Mock Garden Roses" (I know I love the originality of the name too.) Here are roses that are considered a "regular rose variety" but have the look and feel of a garden rose, these roses should run you somewhere in the neighborhood of $3-$5/ stem and are a great low cost option for high volume pieces like bridesmaid bouquets and centerpieces!
So here are some of my favorite "Mock Garden Roses"
Polo Rose: This is my go to mock ivory rose variety, it has a high petal count and opens in a classic garden rose style. I have used this variety in a lot of my weddings to cut the cost or in the event that peonies were out of season!
Garden Spirit Rose: This is probably my new favorite, it has a spiral shape when opening that is just stunning and the rose has a great blush hue that I love for the 2017- 2018 trends!

Finesse Rose: This rose comes in 3 very distinct colors, one is a lemony/ yellow hue, a pinky/ coral hue and the other is a peachy/ salmon color. I love these roses because of both their longevity and ruffled looking petals!
Wanted Roses: This is a great deep red variety with a high petal count and a spiral opening. IT is great for pulling in a lush wine color when burgundy peonies are out of season!
These are great options to consider when looking at the time of year (all of these varieties are grown all year round) and budget "(again when compared to a true garden rose these can be a significantly more cost effective option!)
